Participating in a triathlon, marathon, cycling event, or 5k can be a very rewarding experience, but when you race for a cause the experience can become something truly special. When you sign up for a race you are taking a risk and challenging yourself much in the same way that our participants with intellectual disabilities are challenged by discrimination and social isolation every day. You can overcome your physical challenge while helping Best Buddies Texas raise money to help people with intellectual disabilities overcome the challenges of social isolation. Join Best Buddies supporters from across the state to help raise awareness and funds for Best Buddies. Together we can make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities one friendship and job at a time! How Race for the Buds works: Once you have decided on an event to participate in, simply register for that event and then register on this website to start your fundraising. Once you have registered with Race for the Buds you will receive an easy to use, customizable fundraising webpage that will assist you in the collection of your donations. This site allows you to turn any race into an opportunity to support Best Buddies and allows you to invite your friends and family to support you in the cause of enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Race for the Buds provides templates for donation request e-mails, letters, and pledge sheets. You will also receive, by mail, a Best Buddies bracelet. There's no fee to register, only gift incentives when you meet certain fundraising levels! All registrants will receive a Best Buddies bracelet Individuals that raise $250 and above will receive a Best Buddies logo t-shirt Individuals that raise $500 and above will receive a Best Buddies logo t-shirt and a water bottle Individuals that raise $1000 and above will receive a gift bag filled with Best Buddies merchandise and other unique items So what are you waiting for?
