2009 Southern Nevada Arthritis Walk with celebrity host Terry Fator

The Arthritis Walk® is an annual nationwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability.
This year we were pleased to have Las Vegas headliner Terry Fator serving as our celebrity host. Terry's sister Debi was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 18. Terry used a portion of his winnings on America's Got Talent to help Debi get the appropriate medications and treatment that her insurance wouldn't cover. To show their support, Debi greed to serve as our Honorary Walk Chair and Terry was our celebrity host. Both Debi and Terry are committed to do what they can to help find a cure for this disease that affects so many people.
This year's juvenile arthritis honoree is Makayla Hoag. Makayla put up and incredible and courageous fight with her arthritis and other medical conditions. Through a series of setbacks and complications, Makayla passed away in April of this year at the age of 5. As a wonderful tribute to Makayla and to bring awareness to this little known or talked about juvenile disease, Makayla's family walked in her memory.
