Bio-Ball 2016

To benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts

Online player and volunteer registration is now closed. We look forward to seeing you at the event!

April 2, 2016

The Competition:
Bio-Ball is a one day basketball tournament involving 16 local biotech and pharma companies and 16 Special Olympics basketball teams. The 16 participating companies each field a basketball team. That team is then paired with a local Special Olympics Massachusetts basketball team forming an integrated and unified team. The 16 “teams” are then divided into two divisions and spend the day competing in both individual skills and 5 on 5 competition. At the end of the day, a championship game determines the winner of Bio-Ball.

The event is sponsored by all of the providers that support the local biotech community with all of the proceeds going to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts.

New for 2016

The two companies who raise the most money (not including the team entry fee) will play a unified game with their SOMA partner team on the parquet at half time of the Boston Celtics – New Orleans Pelicans game on Wednesday April 6, 2016.

The two top sponsors will serve as honorary coaches for those teams so you could be on the court coaching some of the state’s greatest athletes in front of 15,000 people. We will also have a suite and reception for all participants.
