4,000 volunteers. 70 of the city's most important and used green spaces. One day.
Take part in New York City's largest hands-on spring-cleaning event, and join more than 4,000 volunteers to revitalize the city's public outdoor spaces. This year, volunteers will clean up shorelines, restore garden beds, plant flowers and trees, paint benches, and remove invasive species. By the end of the day, 70 parks and gardens in all 5 boroughs will be transformed.
And to make the day even more effective, we picked one site from Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island to participate in the first ever New York Cares Day Spring Borough Challenge. Each site will compete against one another for the highest number of volunteers in attendance. The park or garden that comes out on top will be awarded a grant, courtesy of HSBC Bank USA, that will further the event’s impact well beyond April 12th. Sign up for your borough’s challenge team and help make a huge difference in your local community!
New York Cares Day Spring is also an important fundraiser. With your generosity, we'll raise funds to pay for supplies on the day, as well as support our year-round volunteer programs, which provide services for 400,000 New Yorkers in need.
Register today, and make New York City's public spaces a greener place to be.
