Meet Emily Pinter. One of this year’s youngest participants, 5 year old Emily was diagnosed with Reactive Arthritis on her 2nd birthday in 2010. After seeing a Pediatric Rheumatologist her diagnosis was changed to JRA with a possibility of Psoriatic Arthritis. It was a bumpy road for the little toddler as she went through multiple rounds of testing and dealt with months of flared joints and pain. Once on the proper medication she went into remission and was able to stop all of her meds. However, she’s been back on her meds for almost a year but is doing great. Like any 5 year old she copes by living life, laughing and having lots of fun.

Her family wanted to participate in the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run because it is something the could do as a family and shows their love and support of all the “little warriors” who endure things many people will never have to. Emily is a tough little girl and her mom Corinne was so proud as she watched Emily run a little ways during the Snowman Shuffle.
