Be there with bells on!

Get in the spirit this holiday season at the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis®. Be one of the thousands of runners and walkers who hit the nation’s pavements, pathways and parks this winter to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability.

Jingle Bell Run/Walk® is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others! Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Run or walk a 5 kilometer route with your team members and celebrate the season by giving.

EllaMeet Ella - Our Hero for The Tulsa 2012 Jingle Bell Run

At 18 months of age, Ella was diagnosed with Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) with systemic features. Ella’s arthritis was challenging to diagnose from the very beginning and has been even more challenging to treat. Her symptoms cross over two types of JA, in addition to an undetermined autoimmune component that does not fit into any specific diagnosis. Not only has the presentation of her disease been atypical, but her reactions to medications have been as well. She has repeatedly had adverse reactions to medications that most children are able to tolerate. Currently she takes 15 medications, including low-dose chemotherapy, steroids, biologic, anti- inflammatories and other medications that manage the side effects of the JA medications. Despite these ongoing struggles, Ella is a sweet, energetic girl who is thriving in first grade.
