A: A Team LRF fundraiser is an independent event that is organized by a volunteer who donates the proceeds or requests that all donations be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. These fundraisers happen around the country throughout the year and can include events such as neighborhood car washes, school bake sales, benefit concerts, dinner parties, sports / endurance events and more. Team LRF pairs your passion for planning or participating in these types of events with your dedication to raising awareness and finding a cure for lymphoma.
A: Raising money can be easier than you think. It only takes minutes to create your personal fundraising page where you can upload photos and share your story about your fundraising efforts. Make sure to include a link to your page when emailing family and friends to solicit donations and when promoting your fundraising efforts on your social media pages. Friends, family, and members of your community can visit your page and make donations, and you can easily track your fundraising success! It's fast, fun and easy!
A: Yes, of course! Team LRF volunteers all over the country plan fundraising events that do not have an online component. While we recommend using the Team LRF online platform to make soliciting and tracking donors and promoting your fundraiser easier and more accessible, we understand that this is not for everyone. For more details, or to request information on how to fundraise for LRF offline, please contact Amy Rothschild, Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, (646)312-5207 or email@example.com.
A: The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) is the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted to funding innovative lymphoma research and providing people with lymphoma and healthcare professionals with up-to-date education about this type of cancer. The Foundation invests millions of dollars every year to combat lymphoma and assist those whose lives have been affected by a lymphoma diagnosis. LRF is dedicated to identifying a cure through an aggressively funded research program and to helping members of the lymphoma community by providing comprehensive, disease-specific programs and services. Since inception, LRF has funded more than $51 million in lymphoma research and currently serves over 50,000 people each year through our programs and services. Over 81 cents of every dollar spent by the Foundation goes toward research and programming. (For more detailed information on how LRF funds are spent, please see our 2012 Annual Report).
A: LRF encourages volunteers to visually “brand” Team LRF Fundraisers benefiting the Foundation. To ensure the logo is used effectively and appropriately, volunteers must adhere to LRF logo policies. Permission to use the LRF logo is, in all cases, at the ultimate discretion of the Lymphoma Research Foundation. LRF reserves the right to deny this permission at any time. Click here for LRF and Team LRF Logo guidelines. To request logo artwork, please contact Amy Rothschild, Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, (646)312-5207 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

You can also find this printable donation form on your personal Team LRF page by clicking the "Give Now" button and selecting "Print Donation Form." Your name and your fundraiser name are automatically filled out, so friends and family just need to fill in their information and send in the form with their donation!

A: Many businesses will match or double the amount one of their employees donates to charity. Ask your company about its matching gift program, and don’t forget to ask friends and family who donate to check with their companies, too. You can instantly double your fundraising contribution through matching gifts. After making a donation, employees can obtain a "matching gift" form (usually within the HR department) which asks their corporation to match the donation amount they made individually to the same nonprofit. The form is mailed to the nonprofit to complete and then sent back to the corporation. For more information on matching gifts, please contact Amy Rothschild, Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, (646)312-5207 or email@example.com.
A: Every online donation will receive an automated email acknowledgment from LRF that can be used for tax purposes. It is also a good idea to send your own personal thank you note to anyone who donates to your fundraising efforts. When you log in to your Team LRF account, you will be able to see a list of donors who have contributed. Please be aware that LRF can only acknowledge direct gifts. If participants would like to be acknowledged by LRF for their donation, they must donate directly to LRF.
A: LRF cannot reimburse you for any fundraising expenses. To keep your event expenses down, we suggest asking local businesses and vendors for in-kind donations in exchange for free advertising on any promotional materials (i.e. flyers, brochures) for your fundraiser.
A: LRF does not acknowledge third party in-kind donations, e.g. raffle items, auction items, goods or services, venue space, etc...for tax purposes.
A: There is no registration fee or fundraising requirement for joining Team LRF. We suggest you set a realistic goal for yourself and increase your goal each time you meet it. Team LRF is grateful for all donations and no fundraising effort goes unnoticed.
A: Right now we do not have any Team LRF merchandise created. However, we do have promotional materials, including informational brochures about lymphoma and the Foundation, we can send to you. You can display and/or distribute these materials at your fundraiser. To request these complimentary promotional materials, please contact Amy Rothschild, Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator, (646)312-5207 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A: The Team LRF site offers features that are not available on other third party fundraising sites. We provide a printable donation form, available for download directly from the Team LRF site, for donors who wish to donate offline and mail their donations directly to LRF. Once we receive these offline donations, we can upload the dollar amounts to your personal fundraising page so that the posted amount of total funds raised on your page reflects both online and offline donations. Another key benefit to using the Team LRF site is that 100% of the funds raised on your Team LRF fundraising page goes directly to LRF which in turn can help to make a bigger impact towards reaching LRF's goal of eradicating lymphoma. Other third party fundraising sites take a percentage of the funds raised to cover their costs before sending the donations to LRF. This percentage varies from site to site, but sometimes it can be up to 7.5% of the donation amount.
