About the American Lung Association

Lung disease, including asthma, emphysema and lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in America. Over the last decade, the death rate from lung disease has been growing faster than the death rate from almost any other killer. Each year nearly 4,000 Americans die from asthma- that's nearly 11 lives a day lost to a disease that's treatable.

Since 1904, the American Lung Association® has been making an impact, saving lives, preventing lung disease and improving the quality of life through research, education and advocacy. We are dedicated to working for cures, clean air and smoke free kids.

To continue our fight, we need your support. By participating in the Blow the Whistle on Asthma Walk and raising funds you will help improve the quality of life for those who struggle to breathe and ultimately save lives. Register today and start making an impact.

Visit the American Lung Association at www.lungusa.org for information on lung health resources, including programs and events in your area or call the toll-free Lung HelpLine at 1-800-LUNGUSA.
