Fees & Fundraising

The registration fee for Smash Cancer Tournament is $10. The individual fundraising minimum is $125 for each flight you want to secure your spot at the event. The fundraising minimum must be met by Wednesday, February 28, 2018 to be entered into the draw. This event is primarily a fundraiser and we encourage participants to compete for the fundraising awards individually and as a team. There are terrific prizes for the top two individuals and the top two fundraising teams. Work together to help beat cancer!

Tips for Raising $125

1. Contribute $15 to yourself
2. Get two family members to contribute $25 each = $50
3. Get four friends to contribute $15 each = $60
4. You have met your goal! $125

When fundraising remember:

Don’t be afraid to ask! You are not paying money to play tennis; you are playing tennis to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer. The money raised is not for you; it’s to help find a cure. And the money raised by this event goes toward early stage research that wouldn’t be funded in any other way!
Set a goal and let people know what it is! If you are playing to honor someone, consider sharing his or her story. Everyone has been affected by cancer and one of the goals of this event is to bring people together and to fight together to help find a cure.
Last year 70% of participants raised money beyond their own contribution; we’d like that to be 100% this year! The single most effective tool last year was the personal call or contact. Let people know what you are doing and why! Knock on doors, send emails, texts and letters, post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat or light up the social media platform of your choice! Set up a bake sell or table at work or local high volume foot traffic spot and hand out your information. They all work!
Remember to write thank you notes to each your sponsors. This will go a long way, especially when you approach them next year.
All contributions are tax deductible. The tax ID is 26-4812335. Include this in all your solicitations.
