New Additions

Greater Philly Chapter Riders!

We are so excited about our Ride to Defeat ALS on Saturday, June 17th. We want you to join us- ride with family & friends and make a huge difference for those with ALS. Please take a moment to see some great additions/updates we have added from previous years. We are working hard to enhance an already fun family ride so can we raise both awareness and funding to cure this devastating disease.

Logistics Company: We have partnered with ACT Sports Management to ensure a great ride experience. They are working with:

• Course design and routing.
• EMS contact and arrangements
• Signage plan and production.
• Course marshals, volunteer, and staffing plan design and execution.
• SAG and trail vehicle
• Coordination rest stops to refuel and re-energize for the next portion of your ride
• Coordination of starting points to send the riders off safely

Morey’s Piers: Morey’s Piers has upgraded their sponsorship for the Ride. Every rider will get two tickets at the finish line, which can be redeemed either Saturday (6/17) or Sunday (6/18). The option is yours, cool down Saturday after the long ride or bring the family on Sunday. Tickets provide access to all the Morey’s Piers Amusement and Water Parks. Plus! Dad rides and slides FREE on Father’s Day!

Bike Route & NEW Feature: Mapmyride! We wanted to provide our riders an updated cue sheet along with the new change to the course - a bike path at the 10 mile start (to eliminate some traffic hot spots):

Here are the links to the cue sheets from the 4 starting points you can use on your phone/app.

Virtual Riders: Enjoy all that Ride to Defeat ALS has to offer without riding. If you cannot be at the ride or you are unable to participate, you can still join the movement towards a world free of ALS by fundraising through our online Virtual Rider Program.

Virtual Riders can be members of teams, participate in fundraising contests and become Top Fundraisers. Virtual Riders can also create a personal fundraising web page and have access to all of our online fundraising tools. The registration fee for all Virtual Riders is a reduced rate of $25 as there are costs associated with the event for all participants. Please note, Virtual Riders will not receive the mandatory day-of-event rider materials. If you raise the $125 virtual rider minimum, you’ll get the same benefits as a rider, including an event t-shirt, 2 Morey’s Passes, lunch on Ride Day and you’re eligible for rider incentives! Also, the top VR fundraiser will receive 2 tickets for the Phillies Rooftop Celebration in the spring of 2018.

Check out ride updates and incentives on Facebook (friend me at: Jamey Piggott ALSA) and our Facebook Page.

If you have any questions or need anything, just let me know. I’d be glad to help out!

Thank you so much. You all are making an incredible difference--your dedication to the fight against ALS means so much!
