Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Blackbaud?
Blackbaud is a marketing infrastructure service provider offering advanced Internet fundraising solutions to charitable, educational and political organizations. The Lustgarten Foundation has contracted with Blackbaud to provide online support for Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk/Run events. Through the Web site, you can register for the event, collect donations from family and friends and more.

How do I register for Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk/Run online?
Go to the "Register Here" button and complete the form. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail receipt.

Do I need to register online?
No. You need not register online.  If you do not wish to use the online fundraising system, send us your registration fee, along with your contact information and the name of the Walk/Run that you will be participating in.

I want to bring my children with me to the Walk/Run.  Do they have to register, and do they also have to pay a fee?
Children ages 15 and under do not have to register for a Walk/Run.  However, we encourage them to raise an amount matching their age.  Children 16 and older should register and are required to meet the $50 registration fee.  All children under age 18 are required to have a guardian and the guardian must sign a participation waiver on their behalf.

What is unique about this Web site?
This Web site offers the capability for individuals to register for an event, and also to collect donations from  friends and family through an efficient mechanism. The event participant can track the progress of donation collections through the viewing of secured online reports.

Is my information secure?
Blackbaud has made every effort to protect your information. The company uses industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet. They have also installed an encryption engine on their database server so that your data is securely stored.

What is the long Web site address for that I received in my confirmation receipt?
This Web site address will take you to your personal donation page. This address link is automatically included in any e-mails that are sent through the e-mail center in "Event Headquarters" after you have logged into the Web site. You can also copy and paste this link into any other form of e-mail.

Why do I have to pay a Registration Fee?

Your commitment to the cause begins with your personal donation.  When you ask someone to sponsor your participation in a Walk/Run event, your personal donation in support of yourself demonstrates your commitment to the cause. Sponsors are more likely to give generously when they see your active participation.

How much is the Registration Fee?
The pre-registration fee is $50 per walker*.  If you register on the day of the Walk/Run, the registration fee is $60 per walker.  This fee can include your personal donation, donations from friends and family or any combination.  The Registration Fee is not due until the day of the Walk/Run. You do not have to pay your Fee when you register.

*If you're not sure of your registration fee, please defer to the particular Walk that you are participating in.

A note about offline donations:
The Lustgarten Foundation receives thousands of individual donations year-round from Walk/Run events taking place across the country.  Our staff works diligently to process and post these donations to individual fundraising pages; however, your patience is greatly appreciated.  Due to the success of Walk/Run events, donations received on the day-of an event require 6-8 weeks to be reflected on personal fundraising pages.  Mailing your donations in batches as you collect them can help speed the process.

What is The Lustgarten Foundation's federal tax ID number?

Our federal tax ID number is 31-1611837.

Can friends and family make a donation in support of a Participant through the main Web site?
Yes. On the Web Site Home page, friends and family can locate a Participant by clicking on the "Sponsor Participant" button. By typing in the name of the Participant, they will be directed to the Participant's personalized pledge page.

Why is the "Sponsor Participant" search not finding a Participant whom I know has registered?
You must type in the first name or last name of the Participant exactly how it is spelled. It is not case sensitive. If you have a problem locating a Participant whom you are sure has registered, please contact us through Customer Support and we will help.

How can I see who has donated to me?
Go to the "Log-in" section on the site. Use the Username and Password that you received when you registered for the Walk/Run event. You can then view your Donor list and the amounts that have been donated.

I forgot my Username and Password. How can I find out what they are?
Remember, your Username and Password are case sensitive. You will receive an e-mail with your username and password. If you still have problems, please contact us by visiting our Customer Support site.
