Here are some ideas to get you going
« 10-20-30 Challenge «
Invite 10 people (friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to ask for $20 Or you could ask 30 people to ask 20 friends for $10 donation?Or 10 friends to ask 20 people for $30 donations! Any way you get there, 10-20-30 adds up to $6,000! That is enough to underwrite the cost of one child?s entire wish experience. You would receive a commemorative frame with his/her story and photo, and be able to share this information with all of your sponsors!
« Bake Sale «
Host a bake sale at work, school, after religious services, etc.
« Garage Sale «
Put your spring cleaning to good use and host a garage sale! You could even ask friends , family and neighbors to donate their items as well to bolster your stock. Then be sure to advertise the sale within your community.
« Ask for pledges «
People can donate a dollar or two for each mile you plan to run
« A picture is worth a thousand words «
Include a photo of your training with your fundraising letters or emails! Your donors would love to see you in action, and a photo can help them realize that you mean business!
« Birthday Party with a Purpose «
This year your birthday party can be both fun and meaningful! Simply state on the invite that in lieu of gifts, you would prefer your guests to bring a check made out to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
« Brown Bag Lunch Day «
Ask your co-workers to bring in their lunch one day and donate the money they would have spent to Team Make-A-Wish.
« Matching Gifts «
Ask your company to match what you raise. Some companies have a matching gift policy, check here to see if your does. If they don't ask them anyway; even if they don't match what you raise, they still might be willing to make a donation!
« Movie Night «
Invite your friends over for a night at the movies. You provide the popcorn and soda and charge admission.
« Penny Roll «
Collect all your pennies and extra change that you have lying around the house. Every penny counts!
« Silent Auction «
Have a silent auction using items you've had donated by area business (goods, services, gift certificates) or new items from family or friends.
« Skunk Them «
Put a stuffed skunk on a coworker's desk! They need to make a donation to team Make-A-Wish in order to be de-skunked.
« Vacation Day Award«
Ask your employer raffle off a free day off! Charge 1$/ticket or more!
