FREQUENTLY ASKED EVENT QUESTIONS

Can I register my entire family at the same time? Yes! Select Register Here and after you agree to the waiver, select Register Family which is the last option. You will be asked to fill in each family member's information and click submit after each person and then click Add Another Individual. Once all family members have been entered, you will click Continue to add your payment information. 

 

Can I register more than one person at a time? Yes! Select Register Here and after you agree to the waiver, select Register Multiple People which is the second to last option. You will be asked to fill in each individual's information and click submit after each person and then click Add Another Individual. Once all each person has been entered, you will click Continue to add your payment information.

 

Are dogs allowed? Dogs are allowed at the event. We ask that your dog be kept on a short leash at all times. We request that those who are running or walking with their dog line up toward the back of the crowd as to avoid other runners/walkers from tripping over your dog or their leash.

Are stollers allowed? Strollers are allowed. We request that those running or walking with strollers line up toward the back of the crowd.

Do I have to fundraise or can I just participate in the walk or run?  It is not required to fundraise or seek sponsors to participate this event; however, you are welcome to do so and we try to make that easy for you!

Can we register the day of the event? Yes, you can register the day of the event. However, we highly encourage you do sign up online prior to the event to save you time. The registration fee does increase by $5 if you register onsite.

Is the event canceled if it rains? The Walk & Run will occur rain or shine!

 

Will there be awards? Yes! We gathered feedback from participants last year and have decided provide medals to all winners this year! We also have small award ceremony beginning at 2:15pm. Awards will be given to the top male and female runners as well as the top three male and top three females in each of the age categories. The age categories are as follows: Under 9 Division; 10 - 13 Division; 14-18 Division; 19–24 Division; 25-29 Division; 30-34 Division; 35-39 Division; 40-44 Division; 45-49 Division; 50-54 Division; 55-59 Division; 60-64 Division; 65-69 Division; 70 & Over Division

 

Can I buy additional T-shirts? Any t-shirts available after the walk & run is completed will be for sale onsite afterward and then sold in the Bronson Hospital South Campus Gift Shop for $10.
2013 event t-shirts will be available to purchase at the event for $5.

 

How can I volunteer to help at the event? We can always use more volunteers! Please send an email to healthfoundation@bronsonhg.org if you are interested in volunteering.

 

What are Excitement Zones? Excitement Zones are various locations throughout the route for family, friends, and spectators to gather and cheer on our runners and walkers! We encourage you to make fun and supportive signs and bring your enthusiasm as we support the participants throughout the 5k! 

 

Where does the money raised from this event go? As southwest Michigan’s only children’s hospital, Bronson Children’s Hospital is committed to maintaining a full complement of pediatric specialists to treat seriously ill and injured children. Your generous support helps ensure the high level of pediatric care that children and their families count on will be here when they need it. By coming together, we can help secure the future of children’s healthcare in our community. In 2013, money raised from the event went to support the Pediatric Art Therapist position, provide art materials for patients, and provide instruments and other materials for the Pediatric Music Therapy program.
