A team is a group consisting of 5 or more people. There are many benefits to forming a team, including our perpetual trophy, the Silver Cup. The Cup is awarded to the First Place Team, which is the team that raises the most money in donations, on average, per person. Last year, the winning team was Julie Main's Team. Care to give them a run for the money?

This year our TEAM AWARDS to include:

  • First Place Team
  • Largest Team (greatest number of participants)
  • Most Money Raised (group of 5 or more that generates the most money)

The First Place Team, consisting of 5 or more people, will be determined to be the team that raises the most money in donations, on average, per person. Our perpetual trophy, the Silver Cup, will be awarded to the First Place Team.  

As you know, there are many great reasons for making the effort to put together a team, but why strive to win the Silver Cup?

  • Bragging Rights – be the team to beat the following year;
  • Special recognition will be given to the winning team at the event;
  • Special recognition to the First Place Team in post-event press releases;
  • The First Place Team will be treated as a Water Station Sponsor at the following year’s event (valued at $500);
  • The First Place Team will find its logo on all marketing material, including the T-shirts for the event, for the following year;
  • For the following year after the event, the First Place Team will get to keep the Silver Cup with their name engraved on the plaque;

So here is what you need to do to get started: 

  • Get a team together (5 or more people) and choose a captain.
  • Register online Registering early gives us numbers with which to plan and ensures you get your t-shirt and goodie bag. You can also track your donations online.
  • Raise support – Last year we raised $187,000 and our goal is to break $250,000 again this year. Make your goal a 50% increase over what you raised last year. Remember, you need to raise at least $100 to be entered into the drawing for the grand prize. 

In order for us to determine the first place team and the team with the most money raised, in advance of the event, each team needs to turn in their sponsor sheets and money by 12:00 PM Friday, October 13th, 2017. This will allow us to determine the average team members’ amount raised and tally everything up. In addition this will create some urgency on the part of the participants to collect pledges from sponsors prior to the event. Overall this will help everyone involved on Sunday morning. So start talking to your friends and family about those sponsors now.
