Event Information

The Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) Polar Plunge® winter fundraiser is a unique opportunity for brave Wisconsinites to be “Freezin’ for a Reason”! To support Special Olympics athletes, Plungers leap into icy bodies of water across the state. Plungers consist of individuals and teams of students, law enforcement officers, business professionals and families. Anyone is welcome! Too Chicken? No problem! Register as “Too Chicken to Plunge” and you can raise pledges, earn incentives and stay dry.

Last year, 360 individuals participated in the Muskego Polar Plunge, raising more than $84,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

 
Ways to Participate
  • Take the Plunge – Each participant must raise a minimum of $75
  • Too Chicken to Plunge - Too Chicken? No problem! Register as “Too Chicken to Plunge” and you can raise pledges, earn incentives and stay dry.
  • Toss Your Boss
  • Toss Your Teacher or Plunge your Principal
  • Volunteer
Register online or download the event brochure and donation form. Cash and check donations should be turned in at event check-in. Checks can be made payable to Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Plunge Times and Waiver

When you check-in for the Polar Plunge, you will choose from available Plunge times for your team. Timeslots begin at 12:00 p.m. and go through 1:30 p.m. If you would like an early Plunge time it is recommended that you attend an Early Check-In event.

Event Check-In

Early Check-In Events
Turn in pledges, receive incentives, sign waivers and select your Plunge times

  • Wednesday, February 5 – 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Important! Only one team member needs to attend Early Check-In, but they must bring the following for each team member:
  • Registration form (if the individual did not register online).
  • Cash and check donations (each team member must have raised a minimum of $75).
  • Signed release of liability wavier. NOTE: If you have team members under the age of 18 they must have a parent/guardian sign this.
Day of Event Check-In
If you did not attend an Early Check-in event, you must check-in inside the Registration Tent between 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on the day of the event. You will need:
  • Registration form (if the individual did not register online).
  • Cash and check donations (each team member must have a minimum of $75).
  • Release of liability wavier (NOTE: Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign this and bring it along. Adults can sign one on site or print one and bring it along).
 
Polar Plunge Parking and Shuttles

Parking is available throughout Muskego County Park. Shuttle buses will make continuous rounds throughout the park between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

  • 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Check-In inside the Registration Tent
  • 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Matty’s Bar & Grille serving food, beer and soda
  • 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Purchase your official Polar Plunge souvenirs
  • 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Live Music by Jesse’s First Time
  • 12:00 p.m. – Plunging Begins!
