We are looking forward to seeing you at the Inaugural NJ Shore Satellite Walk on Saturday, October 5! Check-In, Community Resource Fair and activities open at 9am and the 1-mile walk starts at 10am. Here is some important Walk Day information that you’ll need to know and share with your team. We have lots of fun lined up for the entire family!

Get Ready for Walk Day

Directions to Veterans Park: GPS – 9 Tilton Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721

· Garden State Pkwy South to exit 77. Continue straight. Turn left onto Double Trouble Road. Turn left onto Pinewalk Keswick Rd. Continue onto Forest Hills Pkwy. Turn right onto Tilton Blvd.

· Garden State Pkwy North to exit 77. Turn right onto Forest Hills Pkwy. Turn right on Tilton Blvd.

After you Park – The first thing you should do is go to the Check-In tables and turn in your donations. You can bring your donations to the walk in the enclosed envelope with your offline donation form, located on your personal walker webpage.

Walk T-Shirts and Grand Club – Every individual walker who attends the walk and has a fundraising total (online and offline donations) of $150 or more will receive a commemorative walk day t-shirt. If you have raised $1,000 or more, you will have access to the Grand Club VIP with a chance to win Disney passes!

Autism Votes Booth – Stop by the booth and sign the Light It Up Blue petition that calls on President Obama and Congress to develop and implement a comprehensive national plan to address autism.

Walk Day Refreshments – Snacks and beverages will be available thanks to Shoprite and Applebee’s.

Child-Friendly Entertainment – This year, we will have lots of great entertainment for family and friends! Entertainment includes 92.7 WOBM, The Home Depot Kids Workshop, moon bounce and inflatable slide, fire truck, face painting and more.

Team Pictures – Team pictures will be taken on the lawn near the moon bounce. Walk Day photos will be posted to Facebook at

A Meeting Place for your Team – It’s not always easy finding your team members in such a big crowd. Plan a location to meet your team. If you want to keep it simple, make sure your teammates have the Team Captain's cell phone number. Some suggestions for meeting places are near the stage, by the playground or near the moon bounce. Some people make a banner or hold up a sign.

Team Tents – If you would like to bring a 10x10 tent for your team, you may set it up at the park along the fence at Veterans Blvd. Please be sure your tent is secure.

The Walk Starts at 10:00am – There will be a countdown on stage, so don't start until the countdown is finished! After you walk, please enjoy all that we have put together for you, your friends and your family!

The Walk Route – The Walk is a family-friendly loop around the park – Strollers are welcome! Entertainment and refreshments will be at the walk site until 2:00pm.

Walk Day Total - We will have many wonderful volunteers in our counting room preparing our Walk Day total. We will try to have a tentative figure after the Walk on Walk Day, but please look for e-mails to follow with more accurate totals.

Check List for the Week Leading Up to the Walk:

o Follow-up with the people you have already asked for support and have not heard back from.
o It's not too late to e-mail your fundraising webpage or post to Facebook. Or you can send your personal fundraising letter sharing why you walk.
o Make sure your team has a way of finding you on Walk Day.
o You can mail your donations to Autism Speaks instead of bringing them with you on Walk Day. Include your offline donation form, located on your personal walker webpage with every check.
o We will continue to accept donations for the NJ Shore Satellite Walk until December 31.
