6th Annual Race Raises nearly $700,000 for Ovarian Cancer Research
Patricia Heaton and Eden Sher of the hit ABC sitcom,"The Middle" joined more than 4,000 runners and walkers that took to the streets surrounding The Grove in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 14, 2010. The run for her 5K Run & Friendship Walk was created to raise awareness about ovarian cancer and generate support for Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Research Institute (WCRI) at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
Since the inaugural race six years ago the event has raised over $3 million and become one of the largest of its kind in the United States. Through the virtual "Sleepwalkers Across America" program, people registered in all fifty states including New York, Florida, Texas and Illinois. In addition to the United States, 9 countries were represented, including China, France, and Switzerland.
