Optimize Your Fundraising

Fundraising in 3 easy steps!

STEP ONE: Customize your personal page

People you know are more likely to donate if they know who and what they are supporting. Include information about yourself and why you are supporting Hope For The Warriors®. Include a personal picture and set a fundraising goal. Don’t forget to link your personal page with your facebook and twitter. All this can be done in the My HQ section on the left side of your screen.

STEP TWO: Create your ‘ASK’ list

Hope For The Warriors encourages all participants raise at least $100 in addition to their registration fee. The online system that we use is extremely easy to understand and many people are surprised at how receptive people are to supporting such a great cause. As part of the first step, decide who you want to ask to help support your fundraising efforts. Here is a sample of people you might want to ask:

Family: Your parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family and even your own children.

Friends: Your friends, coworkers, neighbors, PTA, religious groups, alumni groups, etc.

Businesses You Patronize: Your doctor's office, dry cleaners, stores and restaurants in which you frequent, etc.

Your Lists: Your holiday card list, address book, club lists, chamber lists, and professional group lists.

STEP THREE: Send out e-mails

Our online system can send out emails from your email address to people on your list. Hope for the Warriors® provides several sample emails but feel free to write a personalized message. By using our online service you will have the ability to track and respond to your fundraising requests as well as track your fundraising progress. You will be surprised at how many people are willing to give to such an amazing cause.

Quick Tips

Make the Ask

Don’t be afraid to ask. You will be surprised to see how many people are receptive to giving to a great cause.

Set a Goal

Set a high but realistic goal. Achieving a goal of $100 is as easy as asking 5 friends to donate $20 each or 10 friends to donate $10 each. People are less likely to give once they see you’ve met your fundraising goal.

Get Everyone Excited

Use Social networking. People who link their facebook and twitter to their fundraising page meet their fundraising goal 44% faster than people who just use traditional email.

Double the Money

Corporate Matching Gifts. Don’t forget to ask friends to submit for corporate matching gifts through.
