Fundraising Tips

Let your potential sponsors know what you are fundraising for and how their donation will be used.

You aren't going out to eat or on a shopping spree. Proceeds from this event will help the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD), provide the best to children and families in the right place, at the right time, every time.

Excellence in pediatric care comes at a high cost. Philanthropy has empowered CHaD to provide the most advanced care to children and their families, but the future requires even greater investments as the cost of technology increases and caring for children becomes more complex. CHaD needs your financial support.

Start early and set a goal for yourself!

It's ok to raise your goal later, and a lot of fun to tell people that their pledge will put you over the top!

Its easy to send e-mail through your personal web-page.

You get a fundraising web page when you register. Login at to personalize your page and send e-mail to your friends and family asking for their support!

Suggest a specific gift amount or choices ($10, $20, $50 or $100).

People are more likely to say yes when you ask for something specific.

Write a personal thank you note to each person who supports you.

It's never too early, or late to thank someone for supporting you.

All donations are tax deductible.

The Tax ID for Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital is: 02-0222140. Please note CHaD is a program of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. Therefore we are covered by the MHMH Tax ID.

Ask if your or your donors employer offers matching funds.

Turn a $25 donation into a $50 donation and you'll reach your goal in no time!

To encourage children to be inspired by the joy of giving, the Couch Family Foundation will match donations raised by kids!

Participate in memory or in honor of a CHaD patient you know!

Tell your sponsors that you are participating in memory or in honor of your own child, a niece, nephew, cousin, grandchild, neighbor, or friend. It is a good way for people to be able to relate to your cause.
