It’s a new year and a new Congress. But sadly, the same politicians who spent 2010 attacking Social Security are at it again. They’re demanding deep cuts to Social Security to reduce the deficit — despite the fact that Social Security hasn’t contributed one penny to the deficit. Social Security has a $2.6 TRILLION surplus!
Nearly all Americans will depend on Social Security at some point. And LGBT people have less income in retirement and have to rely on Social Security more than straight people.
Social Security is based on ONE simple promise: If you pay into the system, you’re guaranteed benefits when you need them. Period! This is one promise to the American people that politicians in Washington have no business breaking.
HANDS OFF SOCIAL SECURITY — NO CUTS TO BENEFITS
The Task Force will print out and hand-deliver your petition to Capitol Hill to let your senators know we’re standing together to protect Social Security.
Once you sign the petition, please send a message to all of your friends and family and ask them to sign it, too. You’ll help us save Social Security and increase the number of people who are committed to equal rights and justice for everyone.
By signing this petition, you'll be joining the Task Force online community and will receive emails from the Task Force. You may opt out at any time.
