The Jimmy Fund Classic Celebrates with Red Carpet Style its 24th Year

The stars were shining at the International in Bolton, Mass., on Sept. 10 and 11. Jimmy Fund Golf events that raised $20,000 or more were invited to participate in this year’s Classic along with the generous sponsors who made the celebratory tournament possible. Highlights of the event included the presentation of the 2006 Jimmy Award to Bernie Willett of American Airlines and Gay Vernon of Boston’s Magic 106.7, both of whom have given their time and resources to further the message of the Jimmy Fund and the mission of Dana-Farber.

Attendees enjoyed red carpet treatment as they celebrated the record-breaking $5.9 million raised in 2006 by more than 150 volunteer-run tournaments. They mingled with celebrities such as former Celtics Bob Cousy and John Havlicek and former Red Sox stars Bill Lee, Jerry Moses, Bob Montgomery, and Bob Stanley, former Washington Senator Dave Stenhouse, as well as a visit from Caddyshack’s “Bill Murray” and “Rodney Dangerfield.”
