Considered the most prevalent of chronic diseases, arthritis is the inflammation or damage of a joint. Its usually accompanied by pain, swelling, stiffness and/or problems moving. Affecting people of all ages (including children) and ethnicities, arthritis is more disabling than heart disease and stroke. It has also become a major national health problem and a major cause of disability in the United States.
The Arthritis Foundation is the only nationwide, non-profit organization helping people take greater control by leading efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases. Since its inception in 1948, the Arthritis Foundation has invested more than $360 million in arthritis research and has dramatically changed the landscape of this devastating disease.
On Thursday, November 12th the organization will hold its Annual Dedicated Dad Awards Dinner at the Hilton Rye Town (Rye Brook, NY). This sensational special event was designed to celebrate men who successfully juggle work, community service and the critical demands of fatherhood.
This year we are proud to honor:
Mr. Charles Long, Martin Benefits (father of 3)
Dr. William Macaulay, Orthopedic Surgeon (father of 2)
Mr. Ronald J. Sylvestri, Hudson Valley Bank (father of 2)
Each honoree has been masterful at maintaining balance. And we believe that places them in the pantheon of parenthood which makes them so deserving of this prestigious award! Monies raised help fund vital research towards a cure for arthritis and its related diseases.
