The Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Louisiana area will hold its annual Dementia Care Conference, A Meeting of the Minds, on June 5, 2009, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sai Convention Center - Alexandria, LA.
Professionals are invited to learn about the latest care practices and research related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including a focus on staff development. Continuing education credits are available for RN's, Social Workers,Nursing Home Adminstrators, and Louisiana Professional Counselors. Registration is $60 for CEU-Professional attendees, $50 for those receiving a certificate of attendance, $40 for family caregivers, and $20 for students with ID. Conference keynote speaker, Kate Gordon is the Associate Director, Campaigns and Grassroots Advocacy in the Washington Public Policy Office of the National Alzheimer’s Association. In this position, she directs the Association’s e-advocacy efforts and provides training and technical assistance to the chapter network to help improve grassroots support for the Association’s state and federal public policy goals.
