The cost will be $20.00 and $15.00 for NASW members.
This workshop will help human services professionals, social workers and mental health counselors identify needs and resources particular to GLBT individuals in different age groups.
Presenters will include:
Adolescents - Their experiences & needs
Laura Farnsworth, Director of the Safe Homes program
Adults - Their experiences & needs
José Rivera, Assistant Director, Central Massachusetts Center for Healthy Communities
Senior Citizens - Their experiences & needs
Lisa Krinsky, Director of the LGBT Aging Project
Workshop Objectives
The participants will gain an understanding of the culture, vocabulary, terms, etc. during each period.
The participants will gain an understanding of the needs and resources for each period.
The participants will gain knowledge of the variety of advocacy methods employed during each period.
