Mike Erwin Runs Task Force 31 RUN and the SF Marathon for WWP

Help Mike as he runs to raise awareness and funds for our nation's injured service members!

Captain Mike Erwin was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, and graduated from West Point in 2002. His first assignment took him to Fort Hood, TX, where he served in the First Cavalry Division. This included a 12 month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II in Baghdad, Fallujah and Najaf. Following this assignment, the Army assigned Mike to the 3rd Special Forces Group based out of Fort Bragg, NC, where he served an 8 month rotation in Southern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Mike is currently deployed to southern Afghanistan.

Mike has ran in the New York City Marathon to raise money and awareness for Wounded Warrior Project. The support he received from numerous family and friends helped him to raise $22,000. Wanting to build upon this success before he deploys again, Mike also participated in the JFK 50 Miler on November 22, 2008, in Washington County, Maryland.

Next on Mike's busy schedule: THE TASK FORCE 31 RUN!

On July 4th, about 200 Soldiers, Marines and Airmen and Coalition Forces are going to run the 31 laps around Camp Brown in memory of 31 fallen comrades.

Mike and his wife are also on the WWP Team and plan to participate in the San Francisco Marathon on July 26, 2009! SFM TEAM WWP

Numerous soldiers that Captain Erwin has served with have benefited from the support provided by the Wounded Warrior Project. And soldiers that he will serve with in the future will undoubtedly be wounded fighting for this nation--and they also will benefit from the WWP. Please consider making a personal sacrifice of your own to help those who have sacrificed so much for this great country.
