Den Leader Outdoor Experience (D.O.E.)

March 27, 2015

Rotary Youth Camp

The purpose of D.O.E. is to help leaders of Cub Scouts become more aware of outdoor activities; and help them use Cub Scout outdoor skills. Learn simple but fun Cub Scout hikes, outdoor games, cooking, knife safety, knots and more—plus fun and fellowship with fellow Scouters!

You will take either the BALOO part of the course—sleep in a cabin with a bunk—or the Webelos Outdoor Leader part of the course—where you will sleep in a tent out in the outpost section of Rotary Camp. You will need to bring a tent with you.

The cabins have no electricity, water or heat. There is a bath-house nearby. It has showers, flush toilets, hot running water and electricity. You will be spending most of the time out of doors so dress appropriately for the weather. Wear comfortable shoes.

No dinner will be served on Friday evening so eat before you arrive. Plan to arrive at Rotary between 6:00 and 6:30 PM. The program starts at 7:00 PM and you will need to have your gear stowed before that time.
