Learn the basic skills for facilitation of BSA Project COPE/Climbing and Rappelling events.

Teaching topics will include: Project COPE/Tower Operation, Emergency Procedures, Equipment, National Standards, Safety and more!
Perfect for summer camp Project COPE/Climbing and Rappelling Staff to learn to work together.
Trained by BSA National Camping School Project COPE/Climbing and Rappelling Trained Director.
Adult leaders (21+) who take this training can provide leadership for their unit to utilize the Climbing Towers as part of unit programming and/or youth advancement in Boy Scouting or Venturing away from summer camp! Details and rental costs can be discussed with Course Instructors during this training.

WHO: Any leader interested in becoming certified in COPE/Climbing activities. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in this training.
EXCEPTION: Venturers working toward their Mountaineering requirements for the Ranger Award who are not yet 18 years of age may participate in this course.
EXCEPTION: Hired summer camp staff members who are not yet 18 years of age may also participate in this course.
WHEN: September 12-14, Check-in will start on Friday night, September 12 at 6:30 pm. Training will begin promptly at 7:00 pm and run through 11:30 am on Sunday, September 14.
WHERE: Naish Scout Reservation, 1100 Martinek Lane, Kansas City, KS 66111.

WHAT IS PROVIDED/WHAT TO BRING:
Provided: Sleeping facilities, meals and showers are provided as part of the course fee.
Each participant will receive a CD containing the information covered in the course.
You need to bring: Personal gear should include cold weather gear, rain gear, day pack, water bottle and etc.
Please bring a ground pad or cot for sleeping.
This is an outdoor program. Be prepared!
Each participant must be a currently registered Boy Scouts of America member.
Needs a completed BSA Annual Medical Form upon check in.
Must be in good physical condition.
Must abide by the rules of the Training Staff and the Camp.
Be at least 18 years of age. (note exceptions above)

COST: $40 if registered on or before September 5. $50 from September 6 through September 10. No registrations will be accepted after September 10. No walk-ins will be accepted.
