Who: Any dues-paid OA member can attend Section Conclave.
What: Section Conclave is an annual gathering of lodges in our area to learn more about the OA by attending training classes, discover new approaches to enlisting more members to become involved in OA and to improve our skills as ceremonialists and dancers! The festivities conclude with the election of the Section Officers who will lead the section that we are a part of for the next year.
When: April 11-13, 2014.
Where: Our very own, Theodore Naish Scout Reservation! Tamegonit Lodge is proud to serve at the host lodge for the 2014 Section Conclave during its 75th Anniversary year.
Why: Have you wanted to learn more about the Order of the Arrow from experienced Arrowmen? Have you wondered what other programs lodges run that are interesting? Have you ever been interested in taking a larger leadership role in OA? Section Conclave is a great place to start to get these questions answered!
How: Tamegonit Lodge is taking registrations NOW for anyone wanting to go to Section Conclave. Also, once the Section has completed their training schedule, event and competition schedule and other program highlights, we will share that with you so you can plan your activities at Section Conclave.
Transportation: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from Naish Scout Reservation. Consider carpools by Chapter to make it more fun.
Cost: An Early Bird Fee of $35 through Friday, March 14 which will cover your food, insurance, weekend awards, facility fees and Section operation fees. Other helpful Section Conclave Information:
All registrations, Dietary Needs Request, Housing Request, Section Election Nomination Request forms, etc are due to the Heart of America Council Office by Friday, March 28, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Please do NOT register individually or submit paperwork through the Section; Tamegonit Lodge will register everyone from our lodge as a single contingent and file all paperwork at one time.
Theme: The theme for the Section Conclave is “The Fellowship of the Lodge.” This is a great opportunity for arrowmen to learn about the lodges of our section as well as their own, and come together as a section in fellowship.
Physical Forms: Each delegate will need to provide two copies of their physical form to the Lodge contingent leader. One will be turned in to Section at check-in and the other will be kept by the contingent leader. Both copies can be brought directly to Naish to be filed at check-in. Since this event is less than 72 hours, you only need to have parts A & B of the physical completed. All participant medications need to be brought in their original container and kept secure. If any medications require refrigeration, please bring this to Section leadership’s attention upon arrival at Section Conclave.
Camping: Each participant will be responsible for providing their own tents. Tamegonit Lodge will be assigned a camping area as a full lodge by the Section Conclave Staff. Camp Naish has some accommodations available for special housing needs. If you require housing needs, submit the Housing Needs Request form (attached) along with your registration and submit it with your registration.
Meals: Section Conclave will be providing crackerbarrel on Friday night; breakfast, lunch, dinner, and crackerbarrel on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. If any contingent members have special dietary requests, you will need to fill out the Dietary Needs Request form (attached) along with your registration and submit it with your registration.
Trading Post: There will be a Trading Post open for purchases of OA and BSA items.
Uniform: The required uniform for all Arrowmen is the "field uniform" with OA sash. This policy may be relaxed during the event and will be announced.
Participant Guide Book: Upon arrival at conclave each participant will receive a guide book that will contain the conclave schedule as well as detailed information about each activity.
Conclave Activities- Conclave includes a variety of events and activities ranging from Native American activities and trainings, lodge competitions, ceremonies competitions, trainings, and various other activities.
